Game Freak – Future plans are to continue developing original games

Although Game Freak is best recognized as the company responsible for the mainstream Pokemon games, they have also released a variety of unique games that are not a part of the Pokemon brand. These titles include Tembo the Badass Elephant, Pulseman, Little Town Hero, and Pockey Card Jockey.

It seems that Game Freak has intentions to continue creating additional unique products in the future, despite the fact that these games have not achieved quite the same level of popularity as Pokemon. Masafumi Saito, general manager of Game Freak’s Development Department 1, recently gave an interview to Video Games Chronicle in which he discussed how it was “very important” for Game Freak to continue developing original games that have the potential to become cherished all over the world “like the Pokemon series.”

The future for Game Freak

“It is very essential for Game Freak to remain committed to the difficult task of developing creative video games.

I believe that making a game from scratch, releasing it into the world, and having it meet with favorable feedback is not only an excellent way to inspire those who make games, but it also carries a lot of weight in terms of the impact it has on the development of the firm as a whole.

Having said that, we do not consider original game development to be something that should be confined to low-key endeavors. It has been 10 years since we first formed a department that is dedicated to the creation of creative video games.

It was difficult for team members to focus on creating unique games since they were already working on Pokémon at the same time. Now that we have established partnerships with other businesses, we are able to investigate the possibility of working on many projects of comparable scope concurrently.

We hope that new titles will emerge from Gear Project that will be cherished by a large number of people all across the globe, much in the same way that the Pokémon series has been.

In light of the fact that Game Freak’s most recent Pokemon offerings have been met with mixed reactions, despite the fact that they have been commercially successful, it would be fascinating to watch how people react to Game Freak’s future creative endeavors.
