Gamescom 2020 – Digitally due to Coronavirus

Gamescom 2020, Europe’s annual video games convention, has … and this really is no surprise,  been cancelled but it will be converted into a digital event.

Nationwide ban of events

This comes after Germany placed a nationwide ban on major events until August 31, 2020 to stop the spread of the coronavirus. More details will be revealed in the future.

But digitally

Even though not all details are known at present, the nationwide ban on major events until the end of August will also affect the planning for #gamescom2020.

But furthermore: gamescom 2020 will definitely take place digitally!

About Gamescom

Gamescom is a trade fair for video games held annually at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Since 2018, it has been organised by game – Verband der deutschen Games-Branche and before that, by the Bundesverband Interaktive Unterhaltungssoftware (BIU).

It supersedes Games Convention, held in Leipzig, Saxony, Germany. Gamescom is used by many video game developers to exhibit upcoming games and game-related hardware
