Gamescom 2022 is still underway but we already have dates for the 2023 expo. A display at the show confirms that next year’s event will kick off with the Opening Night Live showcase on August 22, 2023. That’ll be followed up with the main expo between August 23 and August 27.

However, a number of companies decided not to participate this year, including Nintendo. Prior to Gamescom, E3 will hope to return in June. The expo went online-only in 2021, and this year decided to take the year off entirely. Organizers are now setting their sights on E3 2023, which is planned as both a physical and digital experience – at least for now.
