Geoff Keighley – The Game Awards 2022 to feature 50+ games

Geoff Keighley, who is in charge of the the Game Awards, talked to Video Games FN about this year’s ceremony.

He said that more than 50 games will be part of it. Geoff was asked what he thought about games being leaked by insiders before the trailers are shown at the show. This is how the news got out. He admitted that leaks are hard to stop and said that when there are so many games to show, it’s only natural to think that some of them will be found. But he said that they have been lucky in the past and that he hopes they can keep giving fans a lot of real surprises.

The Game Awards 2022, what to expect

“It’s always hard, because when there are more than 50 games involved, something will get out,” says Keighley. “But, yeah, the show has a pretty good track record, touch wood, and we usually keep some surprises in store.

“I was talking to one company, and they said, ‘Hey, we announced our game at The Game Awards, and now we have a list of 143 things to do right away.'” You know, things like updating the website and social media posts. So there are just a lot of things that need to be put together. We hope that people will be surprised by us.”

On Thursday, December 8, 2022, the Game Awards will be shown live on TV.
