Yo-kai Watch is a notoriously popular monster collecting game series based on Japanese yokai. Level-5 has provided an update on the game’s status.

This information was disseminated through a tyweet from Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino, who was speaking about the Yo-kai Watch anime series. He said that the show would be “taking a hiatus” following the conclusion of the current season on March 31, 2023.

In addition to this, he also posted a picture of a mystery yokai and said that he is currently working on “the next wonderful thing” in the universe of Yo-kai Watch.

It would not be unusual if Hino were to be teasing a whole new game in the Yo-kai Watch series, given that Level-5 just announced a large number of new gaming projects; however, more information on this new project have not yet been publicly disclosed by the developer. About Yo-kai Watch

Level-5 is responsible for the creation and development of the Yo-kai Watch series, which is a Japanese mixed-media property consisting of Japanese role-playing video games and toys. The first installment of the series was available for purchase on the Nintendo 3DS in the year 2013.

On the Nintendo platform as well as on mobile devices, there have been the release of three major sequels and various spinoffs. They released Yo-kai Watch 4++ on the PlayStation platform in December of 2019, marking their expansion into that platform.

Six manga adaptations have also been created, one of which went on to win an award. The series in question was published as a serial in Shogakukan’s CoroCoro Comic from December 2012 all the way through December 2022. An anime television series that was created by OLM, Inc. and started broadcasting in Japan starting in January 2014 and was a ratings success, expanding the popularity of the brand, and started airing in North America starting in September 2015 A stop-motion animated movie was released in December of 2014, and three additional films are now in production. As of the year 2022, the video game franchise has racked up global sales of more over 17 million copies.
