Masahiro Sakurai, who made Super Smash Bros., started his own YouTube channel this year. On it, he talks about how to make video games.
And it looks like the channel is off to a great start already. YouTube gave Sakurai a Silver Play Button because his channel already has more than 100,000 subscribers. Sakurai’s English and Japanese YouTube channels have a combined total of more than 800,000 subscribers.

Now let’s go for gold!
It’s still too early to tell if he can reach the big goal of 1 million subscribers, which is when YouTube usually gives a Gold Play Button.
About Youtube Creator rewards
Creators put their hearts and souls into their videos, and we’re proud to honor them when they reach subscriber milestones that earn them a Creator Award.
YouTube is the only one who decides who gets a Creator Award, and we only give them to people who have followed the rules. Before awards are given, channels are looked at. That means giving rewards to creators who keep their accounts in good standing by, among other things, not getting copyright strikes, breaking community rules, or getting fakely more subscribers.
If your channel is eligible, you’ll get a message in your Creator Studio about it within a week of reaching a Creator Awards milestone. The message will have a unique redemption code that you’ll need to enter on our redemption portal. Once you get there, all you have to do is fill out your channel name and shipping information.
