Microsoft notes “Some” new Bethesda title will be exclusive

Microsoft announced purchasing Zenimax, the parent company of Bethesda, giving them ownership of all of the developer’s games moving forward quite a while back.

Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda has officially been completed, and Head Of Xbox Phil Spencer published a news post welcoming Bethesda into Team Xbox. In the post, Spencer spoke a bit about what this will mean for Bethesda games moving forward, commenting that “Xbox, PC, and Game Pass will be the best place to experience new Bethesda Games”.

But more notably however, Spencer also mentioned that “some new titles” will be “exclusive to Xbox and PC players”.

Some exclusives

This is the next step in building an industry-leading first party studios team, a commitment we have to our Xbox community. With the addition of the Bethesda creative teams, gamers should know that Xbox consoles, PC, and Game Pass will be the best place to experience new Bethesda games, including some new titles in the future that will be exclusive to Xbox and PC players.

Microsoft previously suggested they had no intention of pulling Bethesda content away from Sony or Nintendo platforms, but it seems they are still planning to have at least some of the developer’s future titles be exclusive to their platforms.

Currently though it not known which games or franchises may potentially be skipping Nintendo moving forward.
