Do you remember Scott Pilgrim? The comic’s conclusion and the film, both of which were published 11 years ago, as well as a very gorgeous video game that was ported to the Nintendo Switch. While there were some minor deviations from the main plot in the form of comics and an animated short, the tale of Scott, Ramona, and their pals was pretty well wrapped up, leaving little possibility for a sequel.

That isn’t to say that author Bryan Lee O’Malley is through with his series just yet. A Scott Pilgrim anime version is being produced for Netflix, according to the Hollywood Reporter, but it has yet to get an official series order.
O’Malley will write and executive produce with BenDavid Grabinski, who recently resurrected Nickelodeon’s Are You Afraid of the Dark? The Scott Pilgrim anime will be produced by Science SARU (Devilman Crybaby, Space Dandy), and executive producers Edgar Wright and Nira Park will be involved. Even though the program hasn’t been formally greenlit, Netflix isn’t in the business of bringing interminable grief to its fans, so the fact that it’s in production at all is a positive indication.
