Fans have been anticipating for the announcement of Nintendo’s traditional June Nintendo Direct for many weeks, when the company would normally give reveals and updates about titles due later this year or early next.
Although Nintendo has remained pretty quiet, it seems that the date of their presentation may have been accidently divulged by an industry member. Alanah Pearce, a game writer and former gaming journalist, revealed that this year’s June Direct would broadcast on June 29th 2022 during a show on her Twitch account.

“Heard it first here,” says Pearce. Let me double-check that I have it written down. 29th, yes. June 29th. Direct from Nintendo.”
However, Pearce goes on to say that she did not get this date directly from Nintendo and would not be publishing any information on the direct. Although she did not name her source, the information is likely to have originated from someone within the sector who is familiar with the scheduling of such lectures.
“It’s not technically a leak since Nintendo didn’t notify me, which is how I make that determination, but I’m also not releasing anything in it.”
Overall, we would advise our readers to treat this with care until Nintendo officially announces a Nintendo Direct.
