About Regidrago

A Pokémon that resembles a golem and is spherical, Regidrago. It has a body that is dark crimson in color and is comprised of crystalline dragon energy, with the energy being densest at the center core of its body. It features a design on its face that looks like the capital letter “Y” and is made up of seven blue dots. It stands on two crimson legs, and its feet, which are black and fashioned like fangs. Its arms are dark crimson on the inside and black on the outside, and they are designed like the head of a dragon. The right arm is shaped like the upper mouth of a dragon, replete with horns and “eye sockets,” while the left arm is shaped like the lower jaw of a dragon. It has two crimson spikes that are fashioned like wings positioned behind its back, however it doesn’t really need them to fly since it has the ability to float through the air on its own. As it attacks, the torso of Regidrago and the “eye sockets” on its right arm may glow a bright pink color.

According to the myth, Regigigas used crystallized dragon energy to create Regidrago; but, after constructing Regidrago’s head, Regigigas ran out of crystals to use in the creation process. The ancient people then locked Regidrago away in a temple out of fear that it might one day be finished, at which point it would inflict untold devastation over the world.  Because of the way its body is constructed, it is stated that Regidrago has the most powerful Dragon-type moves of any Pokémon,[1] in addition to the power possessed by every Dragon-type Pokémon.

Combining its limbs into the shape of a mouth enables Regidrago to launch an attack composed of powerful dragon energy. Its ability is shown in Regidrago’s trademark move, Dragon Energy.

An unsubstantiated academic hypothesis proposes that Regidrago’s arms came from the skull of an ancient dragon Pokémon; however, this idea is not supported by any evidence.

The ability known as Dragon’s Maw can only be obtained by Regidrago, which is the only Pokémon that can have it.
