@pokeyugami has shared another mock-ups of the classic Ken Sugimori Artstyle, including a video that adapts the newly announced Pokemon games Scarlet and Violet into this aesthetic. The end product is another another beautiful video demonstrating what newer Pokemon games may have looked like if they had continued to retain the original style of illustration:

About Ken Sugimori

Ken Sugimori is a video game creator, illustrator, manga artist, and director from Japan.

He is well recognized as the Pokémon franchise’s principal character designer and art director. Sugimori is also responsible for the art direction of other games, such as Pulseman.

Sugimori created and finished all 151 original Pokémon. He has also worked on Pokémon films, trade cards, and video games like as the Super Smash Bros. series.

From early 1981 through 1986, Sugimori drew Game Freak, a gaming journal founded by Satoshi Tajiri.

After seeing the magazine at a djinshi store, Sugimori wanted to join involved.

Eventually, the two decided to offer Namco an arcade game design proposal; they restructured Game Freak into a development firm and released Mendel Palace. [5] Sugimori is best known as the character designer and art director for the Pokémon series, where he collaborated with Atsuko Nishida, Motofumi Fujiwara, and Shigeki Morimoto to create the original 151 Pokémon. He has contributed to the numerous Pokémon films, trading cards, and video games.
