Sonic Frontiers director – Look forward to 2D Sonic games

It was a busy year for Sonic the Hedgehog in 2022, and it seems that 2023 will also be very busy. Having said that, Sonic’s 2D game franchise has, for the most part, maintained a low profile. The collection of vintage Sonic games known as Sonic Origins was made available for purchase late in the previous year. Apart from that, the most recent new 2D Sonic game was released in 2017, and it was called Sonic Mania.

According to the director of Sonic Frontiers, Morio Kishimoto, who responded to a fan’s question on his Twitter account, fans should expect more Sonic games with side-scrolling gameplay in the future.

Both Traditional and the Anniversary Mode
