Temtem – Extensive Server Issues Directly After Early Access Release

Pokemon-inspired MMO Temtem went live on Steam early access, far ahead of its planned launch on consoles in 2021.

Shortly after the game went live, its servers were quickly overwhelmed by tens of thousands of players eagerly trying out the new massive multiplayer monster catching game. Many players had to wait for hours to get in, and even then were likely to get disconnected or hit with massive lag and other bugs.

Developer takes action

Thankfully, Crema quickly responded to the issues and put out a slew of hotfixes to stabilise the game. Although some players may still be having trouble logging in, most of the errors with lag, co-op and other issues have apparently been resolved.

It’s Super Effective

Obviously, the fact that Temtem is facing these issues shows that there is an extremely high demand for a monster-catching game in the MMO genre, perhaps much higher than the developers were bargaining for.

And all in all this is a good thing because thanks to early access, Crema will hopefully get the chance to iron out all these issues before the game releases fully on PC and on consoles.
