The Super Mario Bros. Movie is rated PG

The Motion Picture Association has given the Super Mario Bros. Movie its final rating. We now know that the movie will be rated PG because it has been added to the official database.

We don’t know too much about The Super Mario Bros. Movie, unlike ESRB ratings, which often give a lot of information about a game. The listing just says that The Super Mario Bros. Movie is PG for action and mild violence.

PG, but why?

The first trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie came out earlier this month, after a long wait. It gave people their first look at the animation and a hint of what Chris Pratt as Mario, Jack Black as Bowser, and Keegan-Michael Key as Toad will be like (who improvised a song, by the way). Khary Payton confirmed later that he was the voice of the penguin king.

Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike, and those are just some of the other great parts of the cast. Charles Martinet, who gives Mario’s voice in the games, will also make appearances.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie was supposed to come out in December, but it got pushed back earlier this year. Now, it will come out on April 7, 2022.
