It’s been over two months since Nintendo chose to break its silence on the animated Super Mario Bros. film. Things have quieted down for the time being, however there has been an intriguing rumor that has surfaced this week. The Mario movie is listed on the website of the Cinepolis theater chain. According to the listing, the film is 85 minutes long, or around an hour and a half.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be released in cinemas on April 7, 2023.

A new animated film based on the universe of Super Mario Bros. is being produced by Illumination and Nintendo. The film will be released on April 7, 2023 in North America and on April 28, 2023 in Japan.
The film, directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic (collaborators on Teen Titans Go!, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies) from a screenplay by Matthew Fogel (The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, Illuminations’ Minions: The Rise of Gru), stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad
The video is created by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto. Universal Pictures and Nintendo will co-finance the film, which will be distributed globally by Universal Pictures.
