THQ Nordic acquires TimeSplitters and Second Sight

THQ Nordic has put out a press release to inform fans that the company has successfully obtained theĀ TimeSplitters and Second Sight IPs.

Both of those franchises are fan favourites, especially the Timesplitters series which was a huge hit back in the day.

THQ Nordiq about the acquisition

Timesplitters was largely considered as one of the most influential console games of the early 2000ā€™s. The three game series earned a large and passionate fan base thanks to its unique humour, art style and pop culture references while encouraging customization and modification to give each person their own individual experience.Ā

Timesplitters was originally created by the development studio Free Radical Design that later become Deep Silver Dambuster, part of the THQ Nordic group.
In addition to Timesplitters, the IP and the rights to science fiction action-adventure game Second Sight were acquired.

Both acquisitions were made through THQ Nordicā€™s fully owned subsidiary Koch Media GmbH.

As big fans of at least the Timesplitters series (especially 2 and Future Perfect) we cheer the fact that this could mean a revival of some sort for the IP.

For those not familiar with both we have included some footage to give you an idea, video credits go out to IGN;

Keep in mind this was way back in 2004/2005, so imagine what it could look like nowadays. Now let’s hope THQ Nordiq also decides to bring this to the Nintendo Switch side.
