The Pokemon Company is owned by Nintendo, Creatures Inc., and Game Freak, and all three of these companies have recently re-registered several of their trademarks in the Japanese market.
According to recent reports, all three firms have successfully re-registered their trademarks in Japan for the Pokemon X and Pokemon Y emblems. This renewal takes place at the same time as the 10th anniversary of the two games that were responsible for the beginning of the 6th Generation of Pokemon in 2013.
Since trademarks in Japan are intended to expire after 10 years, the most reasonable explanation for this renewal is that it is being done to prevent losing the trademark for these logos. Although an official justification for this renewal was not stated, it is the most logical rationale.
Having said that, some fans have begun speculating that this could also mean that The Pokemon Company is preparing upcoming projects that are related to these two games, whether it be a remake, a new game set in the Kalos region, or perhaps a related DLC for Pokemon Scarlet And Violet. This speculation is based on the fact that The Pokemon Company recently announced that it will be releasing a new generation of Pokemon games.
