3DS update version 11.16.0-48 patch notes

Nintendo put out a new firmware update for the 3DS, version 11.16.0-48, which is now available to all 3DS owners.

Not a big surprise, but there’s not much here. In the official patch notes from Nintendo, it says, “Further improvements have been made to the overall stability of the system, and other small changes have been made to improve the user experience.”

3DS final update

Nintendo Switch has been Nintendo’s main focus for a long time, so it’s not surprising that this update isn’t very exciting. Since the middle of 2015, the company has shared more or less the same patch notes for all 3DS updates.

Version 9.6.0-24 was the last important patch for the 3DS. With it, users could use a new Home Menu Layout setting that let them save and load up to eight different versions with different arrangements of themes and software icons. It also gave the Theme Shop more categories and amiibo settings for the regular 3DS, the 3DS XL, and the 2DS.

Getting the 11.16.0-48 3DS update is easy for anyone who wants it. From the home menu, go to system settings, click “Other Settings,” scroll to the right, and click “System Update.” When you go to the system settings, you should be able to see the latest version number in the bottom right corner of the top screen.
