As part of a new roadmap, Innersloth has provided a significant amount of information on what it intends to do with Among Us in the year 2023.
The game’s creator said that the team’s goal is to make playing the game “a simpler, more natural experience” by implementing “many upgrades to the user interface and user experience, respectively.” There are many more things in the works as well, such as the introduction of map 5, an improvement to the matchmaking system, and more.
Innersloth is experimenting with a variety of different things, such as new roles and upgrades to the Friends List. Nevertheless, these particulars do not seem to be established for the year 2023.
Among Us 2023 roadmap
To begin, one of our primary goals is to make the experience of playing Among Us simpler and more natural. This implies that a significant amount of effort will be placed on introducing many improvements to the game’s user interface (UI) and user experience (UX, respectively). Streamlining the process of merging accounts, streamlining the process of navigating the shop, and streamlining the process of reporting a toxic player are just some of the things that we want to improve on, but there are many more things as well. We don’t want anything to come between you and completing the duties that have been assigned to you.
As we go further into our plan, I’d want to provide you with the following more details (although I can’t reveal everything just yet, so I ask for your patience):
Map 5
This is the year that we finally give you a whole new map to look around on, so be excited! I won’t be able to tell you what the theme is, but I can guarantee that there will be brand new challenges for you to do, that you will get more cosmetics, and that there will be exciting surprises strewn throughout. If you take a look around, you’ll notice that all of our maps often have teenyyy things in them to make them feel fulfilling and exciting to play. This is because we put a TON of love into the design process that we used for these maps. (The little bone anatomy graphic that may be found in the airship is one of my favorite touches.) We don’t want to cut corners on anything, so we’re thrilled to finally be putting the finishing touches on this map so that you may play it later on in the year!
With the addition of the Hide and Seek mode, new roles, and the ability to customize our lobbies, we are aware that many of you want to be able to locate the games you want to play in a more streamlined and expedient manner. As a result, we have improved our matchmaking. Because of this, one of the primary focuses for this year will be on adding features to matching so that you may have a spacebean experience that is more similar to the one you desire.
Reworking Quickchat Since Quickchat plays such a significant role in the overall experience of the game, our goal is to improve the conversation choices while also making the interface simpler to use. Don’t be fooled into thinking that we aren’t paying attention to how you utilize our products and services since we are always analyzing how you do so. <3
AwwWWWWWW yesSSSSSS to all the collabs. We have a lot of fun doing collabs, and we like seeing your responses to the craziness that results from the collaborations we do with other companies. This year, we have some significant ones planned, and I believe you’re going to go absolutely crazy because it’s so great. (It’s possible that I’m going crazy right now.) (AHHHH.)

Alright, so I’m going to tell you some things that we would love to do at some point in the future, but ONLY IF WE HAVE EXTRA DEVELOPMENT TIME, CAN TEST IT, WE AREN’T DYING, MAKE SURE IT DOESN’T BREAK EVERYTHING, AND IS APPROVED BY THE HIGHER POWERS IN TIME. Okay, so I’m going to tell you some things that we would love to do at some point (e.g. platform partners). OK? This does not constitute a guarantee that the event will take place. If any of you are like “oh, but you promised in the development log that this will be available in 2023,” I vow to you that I did not make that guarantee. THIS IS ONLY AN OPTION IN THE EVENT THAT WE HAVE EXTRA TIME. Okay anyhow – so! If we find ourselves with some spare time and the means to do so, we would love love love to include a few more additional jobs into the game. We have already seen how much fun you have been having with the Shapeshifter, Guardian Angel, Engineer, and Scientist, and how it offers a whole new way to play the game as a result of their addition. We have a lot of additional ideas floating around in our heads, and we hope that at some time we will be able to share them with you. Another item that we intend to work on is improving the Friends List so that you can do much more with the individuals you call “friends” (who would turn on you the moment they realize you’re an impostor, but whatever).
