Atari and developer iLLOGIKA have launched Atari Mania for the Nintendo Switch and other platforms.
Atari Mania, as the name suggests, is a collection of 150 microgames inspired by iconic Atari titles from the 1970s and 1980s. Players assume the position of “the Caretaker of the Atari Vault,” and they must master the microgames in order to safeguard Atari history. It is scheduled to be released in Summer 2022 for the Nintendo Switch, PC, and, of course, the Atari VCS.
About Atari Mania Microgame Collection
In Atari Mania, you’ll take on the role of “Caretaker of the Atari Vault,” entrusted with keeping an eye on the storehouse of retro-fun Atari games. A dead pixel arrives one night, and suddenly all hell breaks loose! As you go into the Vault, you’ll see that known and beloved games have started to distort, morph, and blend into an increasingly bizarre set of obstacles.
With over 150 lightning-fast microgames to master, you’ll have to beat lethal combinations of well-known Atari features, solve riddles, complete challenges, and beat the time, all while uncovering amusing Atari easter eggs. As you progress, you will face a series of epic boss fights after completing runs of progressively tough microgames in a randomly determined sequence.
