Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Demo disappointed fans, fix promised

Last week at Pax East, gamers got a chance to try out the Nintendo Switch version of Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night. Unfortunately, their first impressions were not great.

Reasons for disappointment

Many attendees who got a chance to try the hands-on Switch demo reported multiple issues with the game, including choppy framerates, bad input lag, and so on. For those who had played the demo on PC beforehand, this was especially vexing since they had encountered no such issues with that version of the game.

This, coupled with the efforts of other developers to ensure that Switch versions wouldn’t be downgraded compared to other consoles, left a bad taste in their mouths.

Developer feedback

However, developer 505 Games reassured fans that they have nothing to worry about. The differences between the Switch and PC versions are apparently due to the game being fully optimized on PC, while the Nintendo Switch version is still needs a little more work done.

According to 505, the final build of the Nintendo Switch version will run just as well as the one on PC.

Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night is one of the more hotly anticipated indie titles for Switch, mostly on account of being a spiritual successor to Konami’s mostly neglected Castlevania franchise.

Hopefully, Nintendo Switch owners can take 505 Games’ word that their version of the game will have its issues worked out by launch, and not be gimped compared to the other platforms
