Capcom plans to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Street Fighter in “many different ways” in 2022

Can you believe Street Fighter had its debut as a multiplayer arcade fighting game in August of 1987, over 35 years ago?

For pioneering the 1v1 genre, having interesting and original characters, and being a delight to play both casually and competitively, the series has grown very popular.

Capcom, the creator and publisher of Street Fighter, has unveiled a fresh new logo in honor of the game’s 35th anniversary, and it seems like they have a lot more celebrations planned for the rest of the year. Shuhei Matsumoto, the producer of Street Fighter V, remarked in an interview with 4Gamer (as translated by EventHubs), “We’ll be giving a lot of information in 2022.” The 35th anniversary of Street Fighter is approaching, and we’ll be demonstrating a variety of ways to appreciate it.”

The Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection was launched on Nintendo Switch in 2018, but it’s unclear if another bundle will be released as part of this year’s celebrations. Fans have been clamoring for Street Fighter VI, and with the final presentation for Street Fighter V airing last November with the message “We’ll be back with more news about the future of Street Fighter,” there’s no doubt that 2022 would be the ideal time to finally show off the highly anticipated sequel.
