Cocos engine now supported

Cocos Technology announced that their game engine Cocos Creator now supports the Nintendo Switch. According to the corporation, this is the first time it has officially entered the console gaming market with the assistance of Nintendo.

Zhe Wang, CEO of Cocos Technology

“People recognize us for having the greatest open-source engine for mobile and online game development.” However, as our development environment has evolved, so have our company’s objectives, and the Nintendo Switch is a part of our future. Not just for its portability, but also for its appeal to gamers in China and throughout the world.”

Huabin Ling, technical director of Cocos

“This is just the beginning of what is to come with Cocos Creator.” We’ve already added support for micro games on HarmonyOS, TikTok, and WeChat. Nintendo expands the number of locations where developers may build and share their creations throughout the globe. We can’t wait to see where Cocos Creator games go next.”

“Cocos Creator For Nintendo Switch” will be available for free to all Nintendo Switch developers in the middleware part of the Nintendo Developers Portal in early July. Cocos provides access to the software to those who have previously been authorized to build for the system.
