Well back to the Capcom hate train…

Just wait for it … you will get it in about a minute.

The Devil May Cry Triple Pack will launch physically for the Nintendo Switch on February 20 2020 in Japan, the same day as Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition. It will cost 4,990 yen.

While I love the fact of the triple pack; Fun fact, Japan only it seems. Which is not great, but here comes the kicker because after all it is Capcom.

The triple pack consists of a physical copy Devil May Cry 1 on the gamecard, with Devil May Cry 2 and Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition included as download codes.

Capcom wants your money … nothing else

Why on gods green earth is it that hard to put all three of them on a gamecard? Honest and only answer; Capcom is once again being cheap. They want to go for the smallest gamecard possible. Why well because of making money for sure.

But we do know the size for both Devil May Cry titles currently available. Devil May Cry (1) is 9,2 GB and Devil May Cry 2 is 1.7 GB (don’t even get me started on why that is). So let’s call that 11 GB in total (where I think 1 can really be shrunk down)

If I take a look at Steam for Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition it notes 2,0-4,7 GB for the game (Reference; https://store.steampowered.com/app/6550/Devil_May_Cry_3_Special_Edition/).

So add that up and it should easily still fit on a 16GB card. Which they already need as 1 in it’s current form is well over the 8GB that the smallest Nintendo Switch card would fit.

So that leaves us with two options;

1 – Capcom has gone for the 16GB card, but then why are 2 and 3 download codes?
2 – Capcom has still gone for the 8GB card, but then has optimized / shrunk Devil May Cry 1.

Well I am going with number 2 on that, for one because the HD Collection of the games on Steam weigh 12GB in total. (Reference; https://store.steampowered.com/app/631510/Devil_May_Cry_HD_Collection/)

I’m so done with this, so let’s face it Capcom is only after making as much money as they can, they dont care about doing something great for gamers or collectores.
