Diablo 2: Resurrected allows players to use old Diablo 2 PC save files

Diablo 2: Resurrected will be making its way to Nintendo Switch and other platforms sometime later this year.

Thanks to an IGN interview with the Blizzard development team, it’s been revealed that players who still have their old save files on PC for the original title will be able to transfer their progress.

The team were understandably surprised it worked given that the original game is 20 years old and said “back when we were working on [the remaster], we wondered if the old save files would work and we kind of shoved it in and it worked. And we were like, ‘okay, that’s the best feature ever’.”

Diablo 2: Resurrected supports full cross-progression, so technically you’ll be able to boot up your save file on the new game on PC and carry on the progress over to your Nintendo Switch or other gaming platform of your choice.
