Digital Foundry – Mario Strikers: Battle League Football tech analysis

The crew at Digital Foundry put the recently released Mario Strikers: Battle League through its paces and were pleased with what they saw from a technical standpoint.

In docked mode, the game runs at 1080p, while in handheld mode, it runs at 720p. The game’s goal frame rate is 60fps in both docked and handheld mode, and happily it stays there the bulk of the time, which is outstanding work from Next Level Games, a first-party developer team.

It should be noted, however, that when Mario Strikers: Battle League enters in-game cutscenes, closeups, and so on, the framerate dips to 30fps and may be a bit sensitive at times. Finally, the team at Digital Foundry is delighted with what Next Level Games has accomplished, adding that it is an exceptionally polished game that is visually appealing.

About Mario Strikers: Battle League Football

On this pitch, everything goes!

The newest Mario Strikers game is coming to Nintendo Switch! Strike is a five-on-five sport similar to football that focuses heavily on offense.

Dribble and pass to teammates, as well as use tackles, objects, and smashing special shots, to score goals. If you see an orb on the field, grab it and charge it up while your opponents are distracted to unleash Hyper Strike, a powerful shot that allows you to score two goals in one!
