Disgaea 7 announced

Nippon Ichi Software just showed off Disgaea 7, the latest game in the Disgaea series. The game will come out in Japan on January 26, 2023, early in the new year.

The game takes place in the “Hinomoto Netherworld Cluster,” a world based on Japanese culture but now without honor or Bushido. You take control of a new group of characters, like the demon Fuji, who looks like a samurai, and the happy girl Ao, as you try to bring honor back to the land of Hinomoto. The game will add to the over-the-top gameplay that the series is known for, such as ranked battles, the ability to reincarnate items, or even the ability to turn into a giant during battles.

About Disgaea 7

“Netherworld Cluster of Hinomoto”

The “Onsen Netherworld,” where hot springs spew out evil spirits instead of water; the “Sardine Netherworld,” which is in a super-sized space sardine; the “Shikoku Netherworld,” which has a huge whirlpool that destroyed a lot of demon ships; and so on…

People who lived in a world with many different Netherworlds followed a code called “Bushido” that was different from other demons.

Even though that is no longer true. Since the demon admiral Opener and his navy showed up, there have been changes in Hinomoto.

The “Hinomoto Destroy Hatto” rules that Opener made are followed by the demons of Hinomoto.

“Hinomoto Destroy Hatto”

One: Put an end to Bushido.

Two: Anyone who complains about their pay or taxes will be killed.

Three: Tell friendship and love “no thanks.”

Four: Please help the strong and beat the weak.

Five: Fighting is what makes the Netherworld, so feel free to hurt people….Anyone who doesn’t follow these rules will be killed by the Harakiri.

In the end, the once-respected samurais left Hinomoto…

This is a story about a girl who loves Bushido and a young man who hates it. They fight for what they believe in a world where honor has been lost.

The rule-breaking simulation is the first new thing. With “Dodeka MAX,” the RPG scales up!

The Disgaea series is known for having a “infinite character development system” and a “combat system where everything goes.” In Disgaea 7, this is made even better by a new way to break the rules.

With the new “Dodeka MAX” system, the characters will be so big that they will jump off the map. Kill many enemies at once with a big, powerful blow, and open big treasure chests. The “Dodeka MAXed” characters cause trouble all over the map.

Don’t miss the most exciting battles of the whole series!

New Feature #2: Make… swords that you can eat?

Item: Being Born Again

In Disgaea 7, you can reincarnate both characters and items to make them stronger. By reincarnating them over and over, you can turn swords into gum, slippers into staffs, and so on. You can make swords that heal you when you eat them, or you can make staffs that make you faster. What sorts of things will you make, and who will use them? There are a lot of ways to make the most badass items.

New Feature #3: Ranked Battles are in for the first time in the series!

You can have more fun with Disgaea if you use AI.

Set your character’s moves with the “Machine Edit” feature, which uses artificial intelligence; use “Auto Battles” if you don’t have much time to train your characters; and use “Ranked Battles” to compete against other players!

“Ranked Battles” is now the most popular game in Japan. A brand-new mode called “Player vs. Player” where you can fight against other users from around the country online. Plan your move by looking at the terrain and figuring out how your opponents will move. Your team will win thanks to the strategies you have learned through trial and error.

“Auto Battles” make it easy for your characters to level up. You can tell your party to fight through stages you’ve already finished using an item called “Masoline.” Setting AIs to match the stage can help you level up your characters quickly and use less “Masoline.”

Release date?

Disgaea 7 is set to come out in Japan on January 26, 2023. There will be several different editions, each with extras like a soundtrack CD, art book, special box, and folding screen. So far, there has been no news about a worldwide release, but since most games in the series got localized only a few months after their initial Japanese release, it’s safe to assume that a Western version will be announced at some point.
