DOOM fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of DOOM Eternal for Nintendo Switch. But there once again is a weird twist.
Those who were wanting to pick up a physical version of the title may be disappointed to learn that the game will now only be available digitally.
No more physical
The news comes though IGN who have learned of the news via a spokesperson from Bethesda stating that the title is “100% on track for an imminent digital-only release on Nintendo Switch, the absence of a physical release at retail resulted in cancelled pre-orders.
Affected customers will receive full refunds and should contact their preferred retailer for more information.
So we still don’t know a solid release date for DOOM Eternal for, but hopefully the statement above means it’ll crop up on digital storefronts very soon. Personally I am of course cancelling my preorder and I’m rethink even getting the title all together for Nintendo Switch.
