DOOM Eternal – Horde Mode Trailer, Version 6.66 Update

Bethesda Softworks and developer id Software released a new trailer for DOOM Eternal‘s upcoming Horde Mode.

The Horde Mode is a replacement for the game’s cancelled Invasion Mode, and will launch alongside BATTLEMODE 2.0, and two new master levels in the Version 6.66 update. This update is currently planned to launch on October 26th, although it’s not clear if this date also includes the Nintendo Switch version.

About Horde Mode

Originally, Doom Eternal was meant to have Dark Souls-style invasions, enabling other players to jump into your game and mess with you as a powerful demon. But in July 2021, id Software pulled the plug on that plan, citing the unforeseen consequences of the pandemic and remote working, and shifted attention to making a singleplayer horde mode instead.
