Drainus on Nintendo Switch now has a firm release date. The shooter game will be released on February 2, 2023, according to publisher Playism and developer WSS Playground.
Drainus was originally revealed in September for the Nintendo Switch. There was no information about a debut date at the time.
About Drainus
This is a side-scrolling shooting game in which the player controls the “Drainus,” a spacecraft capable of absorbing energy projectiles, in order to take down the innumerable enemy ships racing across space. Absorbed energy may be utilized to improve the ship’s functionality, such as installing more weaponry.
The planet Halpax sits in the remote reaches of space, under the harsh control of the Kharlal Empire. One of the slaves dwelling there is afflicted. He must return home to Earth to be healed of the ailment known as “Planetary Compatibility Disorder.” His slave daughter is both grieved by her father’s sickness and unable to intervene.
At that point, a humanoid called Ghenie, who resembles a frog, enters and declares, “I have come from 50 years in the future.” The Kharlal Empire is going to launch a cosmic war in which it will destroy almost 5000 worlds. I’ve come to this epoch to put an end to the conflict and the harsh reign of the Kharlal Empire. I need your assistance.”
Why me? What should I do? Irina had no clue what was going on, but her father’s condition was becoming worse by the minute. With little time to waste and nowhere else to go, she takes Gehnie’s green hand in hers and starts out…
Now she has launched her trip into a world teeming with Kharlal Empire forces, on a mission to reach her faraway home planet while bringing the Empire down once and for all.
Features
The “Reflector,” which absorbs opponent projectiles, is the game’s most distinctive feature.
It absorbs opponent assaults for a certain length of time when triggered. Counterattacks may then be fired in proportion to the number of attacks absorbed.
Tanks are also used to store the absorbed energy. That energy may be spent to improve your ship’s many features.
Characters
Irina: Desperate to rescue her father, Irina takes the Drainus, the Kharlal Empire’s most advanced fighter ship, and flees to a distant planet.
Layla is a Kharlal Empire general. Irina’s elder sibling. Layla enlisted in the Kharlal Empire’s military as a kid.
Gehnie: A humanoid soldier who has journeyed back in time from the future to defeat the Kharlal Empire and avert a catastrophic cosmic war.
Izumo is the Kharlal Empire’s Governor-General. Izumo, who commands the massive imperial army, is both malevolent and a brilliant commander.
