Dusk Diver 2 will be released in the West at the end of this month. Idea Factory shared more information about the game and gone into more detail about how it is played.
This might surprise you, but Yumo’s signature electrified melee attack style is still there in Dusk Diver 2. This time, though, she is ready with some new tricks. Shining Rush is an SP Skill that lets Yumo’s combos last longer. It quickly closes the distance to your enemies and hits them with a thunderous blow that sends them flying. Use a well-placed Shining Rush to set up Wall Launches and Break Strikes. Wall Launches stun your opponents and leave them wide open, and Break Strikes add damage and lengthen combos.
Dusk Diver 2 – Combat
Enemies all around? Let Leo show his lion heart by using one of his ground-pounding SP Skills, like Earthquake – Flame, which is one of his signature moves. Use it with Leo’s heavy air attack for a roaring combo.
Mastering Bahet’s Sonic Boom Scythe can be hard, but during air combos, it gets better at killing Chaos Beasts. Try using the SP Skill Circular Blade after using Bahet’s air heavy attack to throw a group of enemies into the air. This simple combo does a lot of damage and covers a lot of ground.
Even though Le Viada’s SP Skills keep long-range combos going, don’t be afraid to use her short-range aerial attacks. Link a few light air attacks to a heavy air attack, and then finish with Eat the Bullet. The aerial version of this SP Skill shoots at the ground and can put enemies in Break State, which can make them easy to damage.
Use the character swapping feature to figure out which character’s style of fighting works best for you. But don’t forget about the time it takes to cool down. You wouldn’t want to switch to a weaker character by accident during a key part of a boss battle.
Support Skills are an important tool that can help you do more damage or get out of a tough situation. They can also let you do some interesting combos. Try out the different Support Skills that each character has and find out how well your team works together.
Counterattack Timing and Just Dodges can be hard to master, but once you do, they can save your life. With a perfectly timed Just Dodge, you can get some of your SP back. Just Dodges can be turned into attacks, which gives combos more ways to grow.
Counterattacks are both risky and rewarding, and they stop what the enemy is doing. Watch for the red glow that Chaos Beasts give off when they use Crimson Strike to know when to use your Counterattack. Cancel a Counterattack into an SP Skill to keep a combo going after it.
Use Orb Fusion to make improvements to your gear. At the Tumaz Mart, you can do Orb Synthesis with Materials and Wafers you’ve found in the world and on the battlefield. Maximize your strength and make your character into a Glass Cannon by only equipping Attack Orbs and ignoring Stamina Orbs and Defense Orbs that would improve your defense.
You could make your character a Tank instead. Just focus on putting on Stamina Orbs. Try putting orbs and orb fusion together in different ways to find new ways to help your team.
In Japan, you can play Dusk Diver 2 on the Nintendo Switch right now. On August 30, 2022, it will come out in North America and Europe.
