EA: FIFA 19 – Better visuals

It seems FIFA is once again coming to the Nintendo Switch which will please soccer fans for sure. The next entry in the franchise is quite predictably FIFA 19 and while EA says that the game won’t feature the impressive Frostbite engine, it will have better visuals than the version which is currently on sale at the moment. (for the current one be sure to check out the free World Cup download)

EA speaks about FIFA19

This is what Andrei Lazarescu who is the Supervising Producer for FIFA World Cup mode, told the Dream Team site:

I’m not closing the door on that possibility. However we didn’t want to create a dumbed-down version of the frostbite engine. As per last year, FIFA 19 will instead run on a ‘custom engine’ built for specifically Nintendo’s hardware. But gamers can still expect a noticeable boost.

The intent was never to have a one-off custom engine that were never going to touch again. It was to have that as a baseline and then build from there.

Well good to see they are making progress with how the game is going to look on the Nintendo Switch. In all fairness it does not directly compare to the PS4 or Xbox version … but it shouldn’t really. It’s just a un-fair comparison. But good to hear the next edition will advance on the current custom engine!
