Easter egg Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

Next week Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will be on the shelves for the Nintendo Switch. Earlier this game also appeared on the Wii U. A number of things have changed in this Nintendo Switch version. But we thought we knew the most, but nothing is less true!

It is a well-known phenomenon in the gaming world. Developers who hide certain easter eggs in their game. The term easter egg refers to the (chocolate) eggs that children go to look for at Easter.

These easter eggs, like the easter eggs in games, are often well hidden and not immediately visible. Developers thus hide references to other games or films. Often these Easter eggs are made up fairly quickly, but it can sometimes take years before one is found.

Spoiler alert

At Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze the hiding has been less successful. The easter egg has already been found before the game is officially finished.

It concerns the parrot Tawka which is in the store when you play the game with the new playable character Funky Kong. In one of his statements he refers to the Donkey Kong TV series which was not such a resounding success.
