The protagonist is found lying at the foot of a cliff in the Japanese countryside, suffering from amnesia. Hoping to regain his lost memories, he works with detective assistant Ayumi Tachibana to help solve a complex murder case surrounding a wealthy family in a haunted village.

Set before the events of The Missing Heir, a younger Ayumi is shocked by the sudden passing of her high school friend and “Detective Club” co-founder, Yoko. Meanwhile, while searching for his missing parents, the protagonist is recruited to investigate a supernatural rumour surrounding Yoko’s mysterious death.
