Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Series announced + physical editions

Earlier, multiple postings on the ESRB website gave the impression that the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series, which remasters Final Fantasy I through Final Fantasy VI, may be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Now that it’s been given the official announcement treatment, Square Enix has confirmed that each of the six titles in the series will, in fact, be ported over to Nintendo Switch in the spring of 2023. People will be able to get each game digitally, either on its own or as part of a collection including all six games.

Physical copies as well

In addition to this, the business has stated that it will be releasing a limited number of physical copies of the game through its online shop. Customers will have the option of purchasing the game in either a normal edition for $74.99 USD or a Collector’s Edition for $259.99 USD. The Collector’s Edition (which can be seen in the image to the right) will come with a number of supplemental items, including a bonus lenticular sleeve for the game’s packaging, a two-disc vinyl record set featuring newly arranged game music, an artbook, and eight stylized pixel art character figures that are packaged in window packaging.
