Fire Emblem Engage overview

The next chapter in the Fire Emblem series takes set in Elyos, a continent that is divided into four kingdoms and has a sacred region in the middle of it all. Once upon a time, the people of Elyos and the Fell Dragon were embroiled in a bloody conflict that lasted for a thousand years.

Emblems, who are heroes from other planets, were summoned to help the people of Elyos while they were engaged in this conflict. Warriors from all of the nations joined forces to defeat the Fell Dragon while aided by the Emblems. In the end, they were victorious and were able to effectively cage the dragon. On the other hand, there are now indications suggesting that the Fell Dragon might soon be revived…

About Fire Emblem Engage

The strategy video game Fire Emblem Engage was shown to the public for the first time on September 13, 2022 at a Nintendo Direct presentation, and its release was anticipated to take place on January 20, 2023.

Characters and other elements have been taken from earlier installments in the series and repurposed for use in Engage. Engage is the first mainline entry in the series to feature characters from all preceding core titles in the central narrative since the second game in the series, Fire Emblem Gaiden. Previous titles, such as Fire Emblem Awakening, have included characters pulled from titles set outside their specific world and canon as downloadable content (DLC) or other bonus content. However, Engage is the first entry in the series to feature characters from all preceding core titles.

A thousand years ago, the Fell Dragon Sombron assaulted the kingdom of Elyos and caused widespread destruction. Sombron was finally put to rest when a group of formidable warriors channeled the energies of legendary figures from many planets and used their abilities to their advantage. Elyos has been at peace for a millennia, but the seal that has been keeping the Fell Dragon at bay has started to break down.

After sleeping for a millennium, the Divine Dragon known as Alear wakes and becomes a pivotal player in the fight against the impending danger posed by those who want to liberate Sombron. Alear must search for the twelve Emblem Rings in order to achieve this objective. Some of these rings are now in the possession of troops who are loyal to the Fell Dragon.

The release date of Fire Emblem Engage on the Nintendo Switch is set for January 20, 2023.
