About Fire Emblem Engage

Invoke the emblems, and take control of your fate!

It is time to face the Fallen Dragon! During your time playing Fire Emblem Engage on the Nintendo Switch, you will have the opportunity to Awaken as the Divine Dragon and Fight with Legendary Heroes to defend the Continent of Eylos.

Onward and forward into the fray!

Explore the strategic possibilities that lie in store for you on the battlefield.

Emblem, engage!

Acquire the skills necessary to call upon legendary heroes to fight beside you in battle.

The fight for Elyos has just begun.

The legendary heroes known as Emblems bestow unimaginable power onto the person who has all 12 of the Emblem Rings once every one thousand years. Alear, the Divine Dragon of the prophesy, emerges just as the ritual is about to begin in order to retrieve the rings and restore peace to the country.

On the other hand, Sombron, the Fell Dragon as well as an old adversary of the Divine Dragon, has also awoken and is looking for the rings for his own nefarious benefit. The only thing that stands between Sombron and complete annihilation are Alear and those who are faithful to the Divine Dragon…

As the wheel rotates, you will be tasked with leading the army of the Divine Dragon through a series of tactical, turn-based conflicts that are spread over the continent of Elyos. To achieve victory with your heroes, you will need to carefully plan your assaults and order each hero to use their own unique techniques and weaponry.

Every conflict is unique and calls for a distinctive tactic and way of thinking about it. On the grid-based battlefield, you’ll need to overcome the adversary by making strategic use of the terrain, where you place your heroes, and the special abilities they each possess.

Behold, the stalwart warriors of lore!

You may call upon legendary heroes known as Emblems to assist you in combat if you have collected enough Emblem Rings and used them properly. You can utilize each one’s unique weapons and abilities, but you may also ‘engage’ with them to combine your strength with theirs and become even more formidable.

If you want to shift the tide of the fight in your favor, equip your heroes with Emblem Rings and let the power of the Emblems to flow through them. Heroes are also able to create relationships with Emblems, which, as the heroes’ levels increase, provide them access to an even wider range of skills.

Learn your adversary.

When it comes to combat, the weapon triangle is everything! Each form of weapon has an edge over the others, with swords having an advantage over axes, axes having an advantage over spears, and spears having an advantage over swords. When you hit an opponent with the appropriate weapon, you may “break” them for the turn and prevent them from launching a counterattack.

Heroes that make use of special arts will have an edge over their adversaries who utilize bows, tomes, and blades. But be cautious! Remember that the same rule applies to your soldiers as well, and that you should not give the adversary any advantage.

Fight it out in your own manner.

Personalize your gameplay with a variety of game modes and difficulty settings designed for players of varying skill levels. There are Normal, Hard, and Maddening modes available, and players who want a more relaxed experience may even utilize Auto-Battle to have the game automatically manage the fighting for them.

In Classic Mode, slain friends are gone for good, while in Casual Mode, they are brought back to life after a fight. If you make a significant mistake while engaged in battle, you may simply utilize the Draconic Time Crystal to reverse time and tackle the encounter again. However, it can only be used in a limited number of ways, so think ahead!

Where is the Somniel?

In the downtime between fights, the Somniel serves as your base of operations, providing a setting in which you and your companions may engage in a variety of pursuits. Before moving on to the next task, this is the ideal location to call your soldiers together one last time.

You may purchase stuff from the store, invest in neighboring kingdoms in exchange for rewards, or travel to the café to meet up with other heroes. The Bulletin Board is also available for this purpose. You may also gain new talents by interacting with the Emblems you’ve collected in the Ring Chamber.

A fresh task awaits

Additional tasks outside of the main tale, known as Paralogues, will become available to you as you make progress in the main story. These extra missions come with their own set of dangers, but they also have potential payoffs that make the effort worthwhile. You may take on as many or as few as suits your needs!

The conflict is still going on.

Asynchronous online combat may be found waiting for you in the Tower of Trials in the Somniel. You may construct your own maps to share and experience fights produced by other players in Outrealm Trials, or you can use relay tickets to play Relay Trials, in which you and other players take it in turns to work together to complete objectives.

The release date for Fire Emblem Engage on Nintendo Switch is set for the 20th of January, 2023.
