At the Game Awards 2022, the category for best simulation or strategy game was taken home by Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope.
Surprisingly, this offbeat crossover between Super Mario and Raving Rabbids won the competition, besting titles such as Dune: Spice Wars and Total War: Warhammer II. Additionally, the game was contending for the title of Best Family, but ultimately fell short to Kirby and the Undiscovered Land in that competition.
