Besides the gameplay, Square Enix revealed that the Switch version will include additional scenarios not found in the PS4 and 3DS versions. Which is a nice addition for the title.

About Dragon Quest XI S

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age S will launch for Switch in 2019 in Japan, Square Enix announced at Jump Festa 2019. The Switch version of Dragon Quest XI includes optional Japanese voice-overs, which were not included in the original PlayStation 4 version.

Voice cast

  • Erik (voiced by Kouki Uchiyama)
  • Veronica (voiced by Maaya Uchida)
  • Serena (voiced by Sora Amamiya)
  • Sylvando (voiced by Masaya Onosaka)
  • Rab (voiced by Mugihito)
  • Jade (voiced by Ami Koshimizu)

Over 200 characters, excluding the main character, are voiced.

Dragon Quest game designer and scenario writer Yuji Horii also discussed another new element.
“In the game’s story you can marry [redacted due to spoilers], but I thought that people would want to choose from various characters, so we’ve added that,” Horii said. “While it isn’t marriage, you can even choose Erik or Hendrik—so you can choose the person you live with.”

Producer Hokuto Okamoto supplemented Horii’s statement, adding, “You can choose the partner you live with.”
