Infernax – version 1.02.004 patch notes

Version 1.02.004 of the game Infernax has just been released by Berzerk Studio and The Arcade Crew.

The patch is pretty big, with a lot of changes to improve the quality of life, new ways to make the game easier to use, and more. This is in addition to the usual fixes for bugs.

Version 1.02.004 patch notes

  • Accessibility features have been updated and made much better, and they now have their own menu.
  • The accessibility menu now has a way to change the game’s saturation and contrast.
  • The accessibility menu now has a choice to turn off particle animation.
  • The accessibility menu now has a choice to turn off the background animation.
  • The accessibility menu now has a choice for making game elements stand out with different color tints.
  • When the accessibility menu is set to “minimal,” the amount of screen shake and flash animations has been cut down even more.
  • Advanced controller settings now have the option to swap control joysticks and change the deadzone.
  • In Casual mode, if a player “dies” from a pitfall or drowning, they will now be reborn on the edge they fell from if they have enough health points left.
  • Several text and localization changes were made.
  • Better support for V-Sync.
  • There were some times when Door collisions could stop working.
  • It is now possible to steal more than once from the Church at night.
  • Now, you have to hit the Donation Chest more than once to make sure the choice isn’t made by accident.
  • Fixed a bug where you could lose the first key if you died at the same time as the Red Aberration. This was done by changing the logic checks that were linked to the start of the event and getting the key.
  • The gold reward for a successful exorcism has gone up to 300 gold.
  • Castles 1 through 5 now save automatically when you leave them. This way, if you die after finishing a Castle without saving, you won’t lose your progress.
  • It is no longer possible to bring back Paimon from a corpse that is not his.
  • Fixed a bug where you couldn’t start a new game as Maxime Gunn if all of your save slots were full.
  • When the player is on a moving platform, they will now properly hit spike boxes.
  • Every input-based conversation should now check for nearby enemies before letting the player talk.
  • Shield Spell no longer disappears when one of Castle 6’s two bosses is killed.
  • Shield Spells no longer disappear when you change the time of day or reload the same level.
  • The gallows’ lever will now only be there when someone is being put to death.
  • Evil Save Shrine in front of Castle 3 is now in the right place.
  • Fixed a bug that let you hit Crocell when her eyes were closed.
  • Fixed a softlock that could happen during the first Darsov fight if the monster pushed NPCs out of the way.
  • Added the ability to get out of trouble Select Screen.
  • Block VFX no longer appear when trying to drain life from some enemies while they are invisible.
  • In Katska Hideout, the wrong corpse image has been fixed.
  • Some frames of Evil Alcedor no longer lacked the Jetpack helmet.
  • Fixed a bug where James and one of the Vagabonds at a nearby camp couldn’t have a conversation because their morality levels didn’t match.
  • During his Protect Quest, Tancred would sometimes collide with the Hero’s projectiles and block them.
  • During the Attack Tancred event, the camera’s range has been cut down.
  • At the end of Darsov Assault, there are no longer any ways for Tancred to back out of his “finish him” stance.
  • During the Defend the Bridge event, the wrong portrait was shown when a Cultist talked.
  • Hero projectiles no longer disappear when a boss dies, especially in fights with more than one boss.
  • Fixed so that Gregor’s exorcism can happen more than once.
  • The music on the Death Screen no longer repeats.
  • The rules for casting Drain Life have been changed to make it less likely that the spell will be wasted. Drain Life now gives better visual feedback when it can’t be used.
  • Several changes were made to the color of blood VFX, both from hits and the Drain Life spell.
  • Some of Down Strike’s hit VFX didn’t have the right color before.
  • On the way to Robert’s Hideout, the background color in a cave at night was fixed.
  • Fixed artwork in the Evil Ending that showed Alcedor with his Good Tabard.
  • Changed it so that the Mayor’s Goon now gives experience.
  • Fixed Alcedor’s Demon Form having a mace in Evil Credits.
  • The Castle 3 event can now be set off by a wider range of things.
  • It is no longer possible to drain life from Sorcerers who are not visible.
  • Nightbeasts no longer don’t drop coins.
  • It’s no longer possible to skip the first zombie fight by flying over it or infinitely jumping over it.
  • Fixed Null Ref if you die in the Darsov Battle room with the Gate.
  • Fixed Null Reference when using Drain Life on Scorpion during Darsov Battle.
  • Fixed the fact that the Boss Reveal music kept playing even if the Castle 5 and future bosses’ intros were skipped.
  • Fixed Robert’s death during his stand-off event not registering him in Demonology.
  • The animation for drowning no longer flickered when playing with non-standard Heroes.
  • Thunder flash no longer played over and over if it was used right before a scripted line of dialogue.
  • Fixed scripted events in Darsov Protect from happening after the player dies.
  • Hit SFX have been fixed during the Destroy Relic event with Axcedor.
  • During both fights with Tancred, the wrong portraits were used for the other Heroes.
  • Fixed a bug that let the animations for the Ram Hideout Door happen twice.
  • The Lord of Maggot’s corpse now doesn’t hit walls when it hits them.
  • The Kickstarter project “Grave Messages” now has quotation marks.
  • When meeting Julius outside of Darsov during the exorcism questline, quest updates now show up on the screen.
  • After getting the Necronomicon in Robert’s Hideout, the quest update window was fixed.
  • Fixed a way to farm XP by going back into the room of the Castle 1 Boss after defeating him.
  • Fixed two different NPCs whose names were both “Christopher.”
  • On the way to Castle 3, a floating eye was appearing under a water wheel.
  • There were times when scripted jumps didn’t work right with Infinite Jump.
  • We fixed a platform collision in the top room of Castle 4 that was too large and hard to get around on the way back.
  • We’ve fixed a corner collision on the way to Castle 3 that could cause you to get stuck.
  • We fixed a collision at a corner on the way to Kadjanto that could cause players to get stuck.
  • We fixed a corner collision in Castle 5’s room with multiple spear launchers that could cause the game to crash.
  • We fixed a corner collision in the first room of the eastern caves that could cause players to get stuck.
  • Fixed a corner collision in the Castle 4 room that required charge skill through a tunnel formation and often caused players to get stuck.
  • Fixed a corner collision in Darsov Keep that could cause players to get stuck when moving around.
  • Fixed a bug where you could go off the edge of the screen without using the bridge if you hit the rocks on the way to Skeleton Neighbor House.
  • By getting on and off the Bike during scripted events, you can no longer get soft-locked.
  • You can now stay on Bike and drop down through platforms.
  • Unmounted Bike now has the right effect on water.
  • Fixed a bug where you could lose control of the Bike if you dashed with it right after entering the code from the Kickstarter Mausoleum shrine to turn it on.
  • There is no longer a chance that the Bike Controls will get stuck during the Castle Clear animation.
  • Added the right way to pick up items from chests while riding a bike.
  • Fixed the fact that the Last Weapon VFX still showed up when dashing on a Bike with them equipped.
  • When the Red Aberration kicks you while you’re on a bike in Darsov, the animation has been fixed.
  • We put a block in a corner of Castle 4 to stop Bike from getting stuck between two spikes and getting hit over and over again.
  • You can now use the Chainsaw to break down the Dam.
  • You can now use the Chainsaw to do the Holy Charge move.
  • Changed how long it takes for the Chainsaw Attack to hit.
  • Fixed the Chainsaw SFX looping if it was started in the air.
  • Castle 6 no longer has an invisible platform.
  • Fixed a problem with the floor collision in Castle 4 that let Sorcerers warp through walls.

About Infernax

In Infernax, a great knight goes back to his home country only to find that it is full of evil magic. You will have to face ruthless creatures, dangerous beasts, and dangerous terrains on your quest to find and destroy the source of this corruption.

Every choice you make is important. Which would you choose:

  • Use the experience you get from slashing monsters to get more life, mana, or damage.

Before you decide what to do, my friend, give it a lot of thought. One decision can change the whole game. Do you remember what you did to that guy? Farmer Pepper remembers. Smash as many monsters as you can to earn money. Use that money to buy better weapons and armor from the blacksmith, get stronger, and get ready to smash even more monsters’ faces!

Depending on what you choose, you can go on different side quests to get powerful weapons, new skills, or cash. Storm the Castle and kill their bosses before more innocent people die from the mysterious curse that is plaguing your land. In the end, you are the only one who can get rid of these monsters in Upel. You can do it however you want, dude.
