The president of Nintendo, Shuntaro Furukawa, has reported to investors that the company has seen sales of Kirby and the Forgotten Land that are higher than expected in several areas. According to Mr. Furukawa, sales of Kirby games in Europe and Asia were often “quite poor” in comparison to sales in other areas; but, happily, sales of Kirby and the Forgotten Land performed above expectations in both countries, bucking the tendency that Mr. Furukawa described. It’s Kirby’s first real foray into the 3D platforming genre with “Kirby and the Forgotten Land.”
Nintendo president, Shuntaro Furukawa noted
“In addition, sales of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, which was released at the end of the preceding fiscal year, continues to grow significantly this fiscal year. Additionally, the title has performed exceptionally well in Europe and Asia, two regions in which sales of the Kirby series have been relatively weak up to this point.”
