Valen Studios has made the announcement that they would be discontinuing its “dodgebrawl” game Knockout City, which is free to play.
The announcement comes just under a year and a half after the game became free-to-play and is getting near to being close to two years after the game’s first release in February 2021. This decision was made because the creators want to keep inventing and move on to “what comes next in the Knockout City world,” according to a long note that was posted on the official website.
Closing down
The ninth and last season of the game will begin on February 28, 2023, and it will continue for a total of one hundred and twenty-four days. This day will also mark the last day that the game will be able to process in-game purchases.
Following this, the game will be permanently removed off the market on June 6th, 2023. The game will no longer be playable on Switch when all servers are taken down, and players will no longer have access to it. Valen is preparing to produce a free “Private Hosted Server” version of the game for PC gamers, which will enable the game to continue to exist, at the very least, on one platform.
