About Return to Monkey Island

Return to Monkey Island is an unexpected and thrilling return of series creator Ron Gilbert, and it continues the story of the legendary adventure games The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge, which were developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. Return to Monkey Island continues the story of the games The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge.

Guybrush Threepwood’s longtime adversary, the zombie pirate LeChuck, and he haven’t engaged in a game of wits for a very long time. Guybrush is adrift and dissatisfied since he has never discovered the Secret of Monkey Island, and his true love, Elaine Marley, has shifted her concentration away from governance. Melee Island has taken a turn for the worst, and renowned businessman Stan has been imprisoned for “marketing-related offenses.” This was all brought about by a group of hip, youthful pirate leaders headed by Captain Madison, who overthrew the old guard and took control of the island.

Chat with old acquaintances and meet new people on islands you’re acquainted with, all while being warned about the new government. The next step is to get out of a terrible situation by sailing the high seas and discovering new and uncharted lands as you are doing it. The only things standing between Guybrush and greatness are tricky puzzles, strange scenarios, and lethal ripostes.

Swashbuckling Point-and-Click Adventures Are Back!

The intrepid pirates will solve puzzles and explore the islands using a creative adaptation of the controls used in traditional adventure games, which is a point-and-click style of gameplay that has been brought into the contemporary day. Piracy is made much simpler thanks to context-sensitive interactions, reactive dialog trees, and an inventory system that is intuitively designed.

Archipelago Explorations Are Waiting for You!

To navigate the sometimes-friendly boundaries of Melee Island, a familiar location that finds itself under new rule by leaders who have placed the strain on old friends and new faces, you will need to be resourceful. You may make both pals and foes by venturing out into undiscovered territories such as the appropriately called Terror Island and the icy outposts of Brrr Muda.
