An announcement was made by Limited Run Games stating that the action-packed platformer Skelattack would be the next game in line to get an exclusive physical release. The start date for open pre-orders for the game is set for 24 February 2023 at 10 am Eastern Time (ET), and the price per standard copy will be $34.99 USD.
In addition, the publisher has introduced a Classic Edition bundle, which retails for $64.99 USD and contains additional items such as a Classic Konami Silver Box with Metallic Ink, a Skelattack Original Soundtrack, a Reversible 18″ x 24″ Poster, and a Retro Sleeve.Â
About Skelattack
Being dead isn’t such a horrible thing when you can live in the Underworld, which is a fantastical and vast environment populated with peculiar, endearing, and sometimes lethal people that are residing in the hereafter. Aftervale is a pleasant hub where the dead spend eternally and begin to come to grips with their time spent living via a ceremony known as a Remembering. This area of the Underworld is also a part of the Underworld.
Skully, a skeleton who is defending his home, is the protagonist of Skelattack, which flips the traditional platformer hero archetype on its head by placing players in the role of the skeleton. Skully’s newly discovered buddies and home are under assault by humans while he is still getting used to the idea that he is now dead as a member of the recently departed. Instead of looking for riches or any other kind of treasure, the humans abduct Elzedon, the most senior skeleton in Aftervale, and try to take the Blue Flame, which is a magical artifact that rekindles the souls of the dead. Jumping, slashing, and flapping their way through the Underworld with the help of Skully’s faithful bat buddy Imber, players will seek to halt the human menace, rescue the Elder, and preserve the Blue Flame as they make their journey through the Underworld.
