About Live A Live

Live A Live, a game that was only available in Japan on the Super Famicom, is coming back on the Nintendo Switch. For the first time in the West, you can play this legendary RPG, which looks like Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy and is made in the same HD-2D style.

Meet seven heroes, each of whom has their own special skills and has lived their lives in different times. You can read their stories in any order you want and find out shocking things along the way:

  • A tribesman grows up in a time when there were no words.
  • A wanderer with a price on his head fights for his life in the Wild West.
  • A kung fu master in Imperial China is looking for a worthy student to take over.
  • Twilight of Edo Japan: A shinobi goes on a secret mission that is very important.
  • A martial artist of today wants to be the strongest person who has ever lived.
  • In the near future, a young person with psychic abilities stands up to fight evil.
  • The Far Future: A new robot gets caught up in a terrible event in space.

This remake has remastered music from the original composer, Yoko Shimomura, and was produced by Takashi Tokita, who was the director of the Super Famicom version. It keeps everything that people liked about the original game, but is also easy for people who have never played it before to understand.

Live A Live came out on July 22 for and is now playable on Nintendo Switch.
