The second title update for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak released on September 29, and hunters will be able to tackle Flaming Espinas now.

Fighting Flaming Espinas

The first new monster will be a Flaming Espinas, which is a subspecies of the classic Espinas. This black-and-red version will act much more aggressively and use more Fire-type attacks than its counterpart.

Flaming Espinas – Strengths And Weaknesses

Weak spots are the head, legs, and tail. Strong spots are the back and wings. Weakness – Water, Thunder, Dragon Elemental/Ailment Resistance – Fire, Poison

Best Weapon Damage – Slashing Damage

Flaming Espinas will be immune to both fire and poison, which makes sense given how he is built and how it makes sense for it to be better than the normal version. Water is the best weapon to use against it, followed by Thunder and Dragon. Slashing weapons do the most damage if you aim for his legs and tail. Its head is another weak spot, but because it fights aggressively, it is harder to hit.

The best gear to use against Flaming Espinas

Recommended Weapons and Armor Despot’s Twindart, Mud Shredders, and L’Origine are good weapons. Seething Bazelgeuse and Furious Rajang are good pieces of armor.

It is very important to get ready for this fight, since its fire attacks are very powerful and can easily kill you in one hit. On the armor side, anything with high Fire Resistance will be helpful. Pride (Seething Bazelgeuse) and Golden Lune (Golden Rathian) are two of the best sets for this. Even though Flaming Espinas don’t cause Paralysis or Poison, you still need to be able to handle the Stun, so having Steadfast decorations is always a good idea.
