Monster Hunter Rise – Third best retail launch in Japan

Famitsu revealed that Capcom’s latest entry in the Monster Hunter series Monster Hunter Rise has had the third best retail launch for Nintendo Switch in Japan.

Monster Hunter Rise is just behind Nintendo’s very own heavy hitters Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield in Japan. Which is kind of crazy when you think about it and also think further regarding things like Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild.

Capcom themselves recently announced that Monster Hunter Rise shipped five million units worldwide. And that is after a March 26th launch. No telling where the it is going to go.

About Monster Hunter Rise

Monster Hunter Rise is set in the ninja-inspired land of Kamura Village, explore lush ecosystems and battle fearsome monsters to become the ultimate hunter. It’s been half a century since the last calamity struck, but a terrifying new monster has reared its head and threatens to plunge the land into chaos once again.

Hunt solo or in a party with friends to earn rewards that you can use to craft a huge variety of weapons and armor. Brand new gameplay systems such as the high-flying ‘Wire Action’ and your canine companion ‘Palamute’ will add exciting new layers to the already robust combat that Monster Hunter is known for.
