The events of Mega Man Battle Network take place in the not-too-distant future in an interconnected world known as Net Society. This society relies on computer programs referred to as Network Navigators (or NetNavi for short) to manage everything from their toasters to the power grids of their cities. The advent of the networked era has introduced a tsunami of cybercrime that is degrading all levels of society, despite the fact that it is responsible for all kinds of conveniences. Players take on the position of Lan Hikari in these games, utilizing their PErsonal Terminal (or PET) and his NetNavi, MegaMan.EXE, to go up against those responsible for these cybercrimes. The players take control of MegaMan.EXE as he navigates the internet, participates in battle on a grid, and utilizes Battle Chips to develop destructive skills that can eliminate even the most malicious viruses.

The Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection includes high resolution filters that are optional and may be used to smooth out and reduce the amount of pixelation in the game’s graphics. If a player would rather enjoy the Battle Network games with their original aesthetics, they have the option to toggle the filters on or off at any moment. In addition, Network Navigators will get access to the collection’s Gallery, which has over a thousand different pieces of concept art, character drawings, and official illustrations. Within the “Mystery Data” area, you will find rare graphics from previous events as well as pictures of licensed merchandise from this period of Mega ManTM games. More than 180 songs from each of the 10 titles are included in the Music Player, so you can jam out to some tunes while looking at all of the art if you want to.
