Ed Boon the creator behind the Mortal Kombat series tweeted that the Mortal Kombat series has now sold over 73 million console games since its inception.
In 1992 the series first released on the Super Nintendo and SEGA Mega Drive. The latest game in the series Mortal Kombat 11, which is available on numerous platforms has shifted an impressive 12 million copies already.
