The removal of a caution that said “Pokemon Cannot Be Moved To These Games” a few weeks ago, when Nintendo released a new teaser in Japan for the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, sparked the expectation that Pokemon Stadium might soon accept Pokemon transfers.
No transfers?!
Regrettably, it seems as if we may have started the festivities a little too soon. The segment of the film pertaining to Pokemon Stadium in the most recent promotional video for the expansion pack that was published by Nintendo of America still has the phrase that says “Pokemon Cannot Be Transferred To These Games.” It seems that the sole update is the incorporation of video content from games for the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance, both of which were just recently introduced to the service.
The fact that the line is still visible in the new trailer casts doubt on the theory that transfers were going to be added to Pokemon Stadium, and by extension, the theory that classic Pokemon games would soon be added to the service at the same time. This is because the line is still visible in the new trailer. Despite the fact that it does not completely exclude the idea, it does indicate that these possible changes will not be made any time soon, assuming they are ever going to be implemented at all.

Battles between Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow may now be fought in an all-new setting on your Nintendo 64 console, thanks to Pokémon Stadium. In addition to the visual delight of seeing your Pokémon fight it out on the large screen, Pokémon Stadium also has a number of other minigames. One of them is called the Sushi-Go-Round, and it features Lickitungs gorging themselves on sushi. Be careful not to burn yourself on the starter! Even if you choose not to import data from your Game Boy Pokémon games, you will still have access to one hundred fifty Pokémon that may be “rented” via the game of Pokémon Stadium. (Mewtwo will never be made available as a Rental Pokémon; however, you will be able to upload Mewtwo if it is already in your Pokémon Game Pak.) Up to four players will be able to fight against one another in a challenging Pokémon tournament in Pokémon Stadium. The competition is aimed to determine who among your group of friends is the most skilled Pokémon Trainer.
